Indy and I met back in 2017. He was a rescue, I picked him up from a shelter out in Amelia, VA. He was one dirty ol' mess that I loaded into my car and we never looked back. He is a momma's boy. The most gentle dog to ever walk the Earth. He has never met a person he didn't instantly fall in love with and trust wholeheartedly. He's crazy, silly, and absolutely the smartest. He loves car rides, squirrels, bread & cheese, baking in the hot sun, belly scratches, wrestling, and so much more but most of all he loves me. He's my best friend, and that's why this is all so hard.

I noticed lately that he had been drinking a ton of water, way more than usual. I took him to the vet for a little check-up and mentioned this to our vet- Dr. Anothony O'Sullivan. He gave Indy an ultrasound and found a mass. On his spleen. Splenic masses are extremely sensitive and commonly rupture. If it were to do so, he'd bleed out internally. It's more of a when than an if. Regardless, his spleen must be removed. What we don't know is whether this mass is benign or malignant. Worst case scenario, we have his spleen removed and he lives for maybe 1-3 months because it is malignant. BEST case scenario, we have his spleen removed and the mass is benign. Hope and pray he lives for many more years- just without his spleen. I don't have the funds to pay for his splenectomy. I'm doing as much as I can, and as much as I hate to ask for help, ever, I can't do this alone. I'm not expecting to raise the full amount but ANYTHING helps.
