Help Elio

Meet Elio, he’s a playful pup that has a never ending abundance of love and happiness, but for the past two months has been suffering from an anal gland abscess. I’ve taken him in on multiple occasions for drainage, flushing, culture, and trying multiple antibiotics, but the abscess keeps returning.

Elio means the world to me, and I rely heavily on him for comfort and happiness. I have had him since he was just a small puppy. He has been with me through the death of my dad, life changes, and moments of uncertainty. He always greets me with a big goofy smile and a happy dance. It pains me to see him in pain and struggling through this.

I am a student and have been scraping to get by with the cost of treatment. The cost has been ongoing and no relief in symptoms has occurred. The financial hardships has made it hard for me to afford his treatments.

The vet is recommending a surgery to remove the anal gland and to culture the abscess to see what bacteria is growing. He’s at risk of developing bacteria in his blood (sepsis) if I can’t treat the infection that has spread from his abscess to his skin (cellulitis). He has been suffering for over two months, wearing a cone daily to keep him from getting at his wound. Please help me get him the care he needs and end his suffering. 

I am looking for any assistance so my pup can be happy again and able to live his life without pain. The stress that has been put on him and seeing him not be able to play and be his normal self has taken its toll.
