Hi, my name is Erin and I am participating in an expedition to Peru in 2024. In order to raise money for this, I am going to climb Mount Snowdon in May!
My trip will consist of a 4 week expedition and will include community development work, environmental projects and wildlife conservation. It will also include additional elements such as a trek up to Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World.
The core objectives of this expedition are to undertake projects in order to:
- Raise the educational standards of developing communities within a rural district of Peru
- Raise the living standards of developing communities in Peru
- Assist with ongoing wildlife conservation programs to preserve biodiversity and protect vulnerable habitats.
This expedition is extremely important to me because I feel that I will acquire and develop many important life skills such as teamwork, resilience and empathy.
This trip has recently been altered from our original destination, Ecuador, due to the ongoing conflict in the country making it unsafe to travel. Unfortunately, this brings an additional cost to our trip so any money I can fundraise will help massively towards the trip and any equipment needed.
