On the morning of January 20, 2021, Erin Murphy was rushed to the emergency room by her loving boyfriend Billy Kottage as she began to experience the beginning stages of what was later identified as a stroke. She was given immediate care and attention from the staff members of  Wentworth Douglass and later transported to Portsmouth for surgery to tend to a carotid artery dissection and a blood clot. Surgery ensued, and thankfully Erin awoke hours after with full movement in all her limbs and with her speech. It was said from the staff that she was even joking around as she was coming to! She will be monitored in the hospital as of right now as we happily and hopefully await her arrival home and a supported road to recovery. 

Erin is a bright light in my life and I know for certain she is a light in many others. She is a best friend of mine that has become like family. She is kind, caring, funny, radiant, sweet, loving, and talented. She is an inspiring yoga teacher at Bending Bodhi & HD Fitness, and is wonderful with children as a music teacher at Garrison Elementary where she has adapted to a whole new world of teaching virtually. She is a beloved friend, daughter, partner, fur momma, and so much more. 

Erin does so much for all of us that it is only right we return the favor in the time she needs it the most. Insurance will cover some costs of her hospital stay/care/surgery, but certainly not all. This whirlwind of experiences she has unexpectedly and undeservingly had to go through is far from over - there is much more to tackle post-homecoming. This fundraiser is to relieve Erin from any stress she may have financially upon her return from the hospital, to make her transition back to daily life less daunting but instead filled with support and love, just like her.
