Hello,
As some of you know our mother (and wife) Erin Koeppen was recently diagnosed with bladder cancer. She was receiving chemo therepy treatment for about two months. Erin was notified by her doctor that the chemo was not working and her cancer is progressing - she now has stage 4 bladder cancer. She recently went to Iowa to see if she could be part of a trial for a new medication coming out. She was told that she really needs be put on a drug called PD-1. This is supposed to help slow down and shrink the cancer. Unfortunately, her insurance will not cover the drug since it is not FDA approved and is only a trial drug. If going to Iowa for trial testing is not an option, then Erin will be trying to get into a medical clinic in Cuba where she will be able to get the PD-1 drug. Since she has not had any treatment or anything in about a month her pain is progressing and eventually will be unbareable if she cannot get medical help.
