Erin's MtF Gender Reaffirmation Surgery Fund

Hello everyone! I didn't really expect to ever do this, I'd counted on insurance

possibly helping me out and just staying quiet with it all but... now I'm here.

My name is Erin, I'm a 24 year old transgender woman from Australia with intense gender dysphoria. 

I have been on hormones for a year and a half as part of my treatment.

However, this hasn't helped with much of my dysphoria and my next hope is

to start a fund for my upcoming surgical costs and additional treatments

such as therapy or aftercare that will be needed within the next 1-2 years

or so if things go well.

Here, medicare doesn't cover gender reaffirmation surgery (bottom surgery

and vaginoplasty.) Premium healthcare does to some degree but,

only for surgeons in country and the results of gender reaffirmation surgery in

Australia are anatomically bizarre and a decade behind the frontier medical work done by surgeons like Thailand's Dr. Suporn or Canada's Dr. Brassard.

In order to get a decent surgeon with low risks of complications,

revision surgeries and a good result for MtF reaffirmation surgery,

I need to go out of country, meaning I'm not covered by insurance and must

front a surgical bill of upwards of $20,000 AUD, along with flights,

consultation fees, therapy and aftercare.

All money gained from this will go directly to surgical costs, aftercare or any

additional required treatment. After I'm fully recovered, in the unlikely situation

I hit my goal and have money left over from this fundraiser, I'll donate it to a

transgender charity chosen by people here and log all details required to show I'm doing what I said I would.

This will greatly lift stress from me and my family and help take starting my life

as a comfortable young woman off pause for the next few years.
