Hey everybody! My sister Erin is in the fight of her life. Below is her story...

 In September 2019 She was diagnosed with stage 4 recurring, metastasized breast cancer. The cancer had spread all throughout her torso which led her to start aggressive treatment once again, and she was responding very well. 

On April 24th, 2020, she discovered the cancer had spread to her brain and was diagnosed with Leptomeningeal disease (LMD) which is the advanced, final stage of the cancer. The life expectancy without treatment is 2-6 weeks, up to 4 months with treatment. 

We have found a clinical trial in Birmingham, AL which is a very rare trial for LMD. Erin has qualified for the clinical trial and will be moving from California to Nashville immediately to start testing and treatment.  She will be living with Scott, the kids and I since it will only be a 3 hour drive to the treatment center. While the clinical trial has made it clear that this is NOT a cure, it can help extend her life with FDA approved medicine as well as experimental drugs. This will prayerfully give her quality of life while waiting for a cure, and of course we are steadily believing for a miracle. 

All funds raised will go to travel expenses, prescriptions not covered by insurance, and living expenses throughout the trial. Because of COVID-19, her husband James has been out of work for the past couple of months. This has caused extreme financial hardship and now with the LMD diagnosis, it has created additional stress both emotionally and financially.
