Erin will be undergoing open heart surgery next week (on 8/31) to repair multiple defects in her little heart.
We are preparing for what will be up to a 14 day hospital stay with her (but most likely will be 8-10 days), plus 6 weeks of recovery after that. We are terrified to say the least, but know that she will be in good hands!
So many people have been asking us what they can do to help and what we need during this time.
First and foremost, we would love your prayers over Erin. Pray that both surgery and recovery goes well, and that we can be strong for her through it all!
Honestly, the only other needs we really have are all financial. 14 days in the hospital could get really expensive just factoring in food and parking, and on top of that we will have some fun new medical bills to pay! (And due to an unavoidable change in insurance this summer, we will be needing to meet our out of pocket max again after already meeting it once from her delivery, NICU stay, and previous cardiology related appointments).
We are asking for no hospital visitors at this time aside from immediate family, so we were encouraged to set up this account for those of you who have asked how they can help from afar.
We are so thankful to have such a wonderful community of people in our lives. We love you and appreciate your prayers and support for Erin!
