My name is Lana. I have been blessed to know an amazing family living in Saddle Brook, NJ and even more blessed to call them my friends!! Yesterday, the world suddenly lost Richie Fernandez, a fabulous husband to Erin and a wonderful dad to Lucy and Emma.

Richie was THE KINDEST man who always had a smile to greet everyone. He was active in Lucy and Emma’s lives with theater, color guard, basketball and softball to name a few!! To lose a dad and a husband so suddenly is devastating and traumatic for the family. I am guided by young Emma who wrote a story once, so eloquently describing situations in her life….Have you ever experienced a sudden loss of a husband or a dad? If you have, then you will know all too well all the emotions that run through your body and if you haven’t, well, Iam grateful you haven’t; however, I’m sure you can imagine how traumatic this event can be. What Iam asking for is some financial support for this family. Richie was the primary supporter of his family and the last thing they need is to have to worry about finances during this difficult time. Erin would never ask these things for herself, so Iam asking for her. Whether you live in Saddle Brook, NJ and know the Fernandez family or you live across the country and we are Facebook friends, Iam pleading to everyone to make whatever donation you can afford to help with costs of a memorial service and funeral for Richie, costs of medication that the family relies on for their health, cost of rent to be able to stay where they are living until further arrangements can be made, cost of food and other bills that they will just not have enough to pay for without Richie’s salary. I also ask for your prayers and positive thoughts for this family as they navigate their emotional trauma of this loss, that they will be surrounded by friends who support them and bring them comfort in what feels like the hardest, most frightening trauma one could experience. They will be more then grateful and thankful for any support you can donate. Let’s all come together in a family’s time of need. Let’s spread the love!!
