Celebrating Our Mom, Erin Colleen Strauts

Hey everyone, this is Lukas Strauts, Erin Colleen Strauts’ son, reaching out with a heavy heart. On May 9, 2025, at 11:30 am, our beloved Erin passed away peacefully at Surrey Memorial Hospital after fighting hard against medical challenges. We’re still reeling from her loss, but we want to honor her incredible life in a way she’d love. Erin grew up in Vancouver’s East End and made North Delta her home for 50 years. She was a pioneer, playing on one of the first women’s soccer teams in Vancouver, always cheering loudest at our sports games, planning unforgettable events, and lighting up any room with her warmth. She knew everybody and anybody, and her knack for bringing people together was unmatched. We’re anticipating a sizeable turnout to celebrate her, so we’ve booked Sunbury Hall in Delta on June 8th from 1:30pm-5:30pm to hold this event with all the love and memories.

A proper goodbye, covering her funeral costs.

A lasting tribute, with a memorial bench, stone and plot in North Delta Cemetery.

A Celebration of Life on June 8, 2025, at Sunbury Hall, filled with food, drinks, decor, audio/visual, all planned with Mom’s special touch in mind. Thank you to Delta Firefighters Holding Society for making this venue possible.

We want to give Erin the send-off she deserves, full of joy and connection, just like she always created. Every little bit will help make this happen and we would be ever grateful.
