The Barnes family is the heart and soul of the Kanata and Ottawa hockey community—always ready with a hug, a high-five, and a helping hand. They have given countless hours as KMHA and community volunteers over the years, making the city a better place for everyone.

Now, they need our support. Erin, the incredible matriarch of their family, is facing a tough battle against bladder cancer, requiring months of treatments and surgery. We all know that Erin is one of the toughest cookies in town and Paul will crosscheck everything that gets close to her. We also know that their two boys, Ryan (18) and Pierce (14) will body check any cancer cell that skates with their head down. They form an incredibly tough team but they still need us to back check with them.

Lets rally around them the way they’ve always rallied for others—every donation, big or small, will help ease their journey and show them they’re not in this fight alone.
