Erin and Oakley Need Your Help
Donation protected
As some of yall may recall, about 2 yrs ago Oakley tore her ACL/CCL limiting her mobility and requiring a surgery in hopes of helping her return to the normal rambunctious GSP life she had prior to the injury. Several people donated to the GoFundMe to help pay for the surgery & since then Oakley has been running up and down the fence line at the dog park as if the injury never even happened. Well… unfortunately Oakley has torn her OTHER ACL/CCL once again requiring surgery.
For those of you who don’t know Oakley and Erin’s back story …..
Erin has been a member of the region’s GSP Rescue for several years. Aiding in finding GSP rescues new homes, nursing them back to health, arranging transport, fundraising …. You name it she has had some part of it. This is all volunteer based. And I believe that speaks to who she is as a person.
A few years ago, Oakley was rescued by the organization and was in terrible shape. Heart worms, malnourished, and severely neglected. Erin volunteered to home Oakley while she received all of her treatments and nursed her back to health. When the time came that Oakley was healthy enough, Erin made the difficult decision in giving Oakley up to a family that wanted to adopt her, believing it would be in Oakley’s best interest. Unfortunately, the adoption transition did not go as all would have hoped for and Oakley was surrendered back to the rescue a year later, where once again Erin took Oakley back in. However, this go around Erin ended up adopting Oakley, as many of us predicted — Erin was Oakley’s home, and has since continued to thrive and live the very best dog life possible.
Erin has one of the purest and kindest hearts — anyone that has the privilege of knowing her knows this to be true. She is always willing to help in anyway she can …. Especially if it involves animals …. Our hope is that with your help, we can soften the financial stress of another surgery so that Oakley can return to her happy dog running life. Any donations, I know will be greatly appreciated & going to a great friend & her loving pup.
