Erin & Aidan Wuttke Hurricane Fund

I have set up this GoFundMe page on behalf of my sister-in-law Erin Wuttke, and her son Aidan, 16. On September 28th, their home in Island Park, South Fort Myers, FL, was directly hit by hurricane Ian, and they have lost everything. Our hearts are broken with how Ian left many families challenged and devastated. Their home was engulfed with the incredible amount of water that came on land; the storm surge rested just below the ceiling line of their home. Hurricane Ian turned and gained strength so quickly that it did not allow any time for them to take anything other than themselves and their sweet dog Izzy. Thankfully, they could make it to her parent’s home further inland and waited anxiously like many did that terrifying day. Even though there wasn’t even one picture to salvage from the house, their faith is strong, and they will never forget the memories made in their family home over the past 30 years. They have applied for FEMA; however, with so many people in the Ft. Myers/Naples metroplex, it is uncertain if or when they will get assistance. We now ask for help with the necessities needed to move forward. The road to normalcy will be daunting and challenging; however, taking care of our communities is part of our culture, and in our most difficult times, we always rally to do good together.

Many of you know and love Erin and Aidan and are familiar with how hard it has been since losing her husband, Tony, Aidan’s father. They have faced so many challenges over the years after his passing. Our community is familiar with the total loss a hurricane can bring and, even more, the daily challenge of starting over. However strong-willed you may be, the unimaginable loss of a husband, a father, and now home can challenge the best of us.

We humbly ask you to donate and help alleviate the financial burden that Erin is currently beginning. Together, we can offer a beacon of light to a very dark event and help ease some of the pain of losing a home. We can’t thank you enough for your consideration, compassion, and generosity.
