Hi! My name is Erik. I am 35 and a personal trainer in Beaverton, OR. Despite being a generally healthy and strong person, I was shocked this past April to find that I was harboring a fugitive in my crotchal region! I fancy myself an observant person, but sometimes it's hard to admit there's something wrong, even when you can see your left testicle is three times bigger than his neighbor and your pants are fitting a little tighter...
After finally going to the doctor and getting a proper check up, I found I had joined the vast amount of people who are struck with cancer. The progression of my cancer by the time I was diagnosed was such that we had to move quickly to remove my left testicle. Within a two week period, I was diagnosed, scanned, and had my surgery. The whole process was very stressful and traumatic for my family and me. It was sad to see a part of me taken away (RIP, lefty).
My medical team were really amazing, and I appreciate all their help, but unfortunately, they cost a lot and now I gotta pay the piper. Beyond the surgery, I have to have continuing imaging and check ups. This battle is not quite over. Now that the dust has settled, and my bills have rolled in, I'm staring down some hefty debt. Now's the awkward part where I ask you for money! The good news? I'm only asking for a dollar. I'm a firm believer that sharing this gofundme is more valuable than a large donation.
