Our sangha brother, Erik Olsen, is embarking on his path to live and practice as a Buddhist monastic. He started this journey at Nalanda West with guidance from Rinpoche and Acharya Lhakpa and Nalandabodhi, Nalandabodhi Seattle, and Nalanda West have all benefited immensely by his presence, devotion, dedication, diligence and kindness.
The next step in Erik’s journey will be Nepal, where he will help out, study Tibetan, and teach English to monks at Drupon Rinpoche’s Dilyak monastery and nuns at Tek Chok Ling Nunnery (founded by Khenpo Tsültrim Gyamtso Rinpoche). While living and practicing in Nepal, Erik will buy robes and prepare to receive vows from Gyaltsab Rinpoche in Sikkim, India.
Following this, he plans to study at the College of Higher Tibetan Studies at Sarah near Dharamsala in India for one year.
We expect his expenses for living, studies, and travel in Nepal and India to be about $12,000. Please make an offering to support Erik as he becomes a Tibetan Buddhist monastic.
