As the Executive Chef of the Dining program, I am extremely lucky, for one, to have landed a job that gives me so much satisfaction in terms of providing nutritional and sustainable meals to the students, faculty, and staff. And two, giving me a platform to be a teacher/mentor of the Culinary Arts to interested highschool students. In particular, one student (Erika) has sparked an interest in a career as a Chef. Now, as her teacher/Chef, we have discussed many options that we both feel would be the best path forward for her career development, and one option, that Erika is most recently drawn to, is working in Europe for a summer as a student in culinary arts. Erika found a summer school working with top European Chefs just outside Paris. It's pricey but well worth it especially for up and coming Chefs. Erika would learn the fundamental building blocks to a solid foundational skill set in the culinary arts. I am reaching out to the social cummunity for financial help in sending Erika to Europe on an educational adventure/experience. We are looking to raise $10,000 which will cover everything from plane fare ($900.00), school expences ($8,200.00), food ($600.00) .and walking around money ($200.00) for the 2018 summer. Our time line is set for February 10th, 2018 as her application is due. Please consider and on behalf of Erika, I thank you. She is extremely thrilled to the thought of possibly going oversees to learn more about her passion.
Thank you very much!
