Many of you know Erik and his wife Stacy Lindgren... Erik is a long-time employee of Northwest/Delta Airlines and a loving husband, son, brother, uncle, friend, just an amazing person in general. He is someone who always can make you laugh and be there for anyone at any time.
Erik was diagnosed with appendix cancer in April of 2024. The plan was chemo and to have surgery to remove his appendix, but when they went in for the surgery, they saw the cancer had spread, so the doctors made the decision not to take it out because Erik wouldn't be able to continue chemo if they removed it. So, he would continue the chemo and during that time look for alternatives.
During this time, Erik and Stacy decided to try the Mayo in Rochester for possibly a bit of hope that they could do more or maybe different treatments. While treating there, they found the cancer had spread to the peritoneal tissue (lining the abdomen ). They were told he could try and get accepted in a new procedure/trial, but if accepted, he would need to travel to Florida for it. Well, he was accepted and finally approved, so they traveled to the Mayo in Florida. The procedure was done and successful, so he came home to rest.
Shortly after being home, his wife had to rush him to the hospital because he was in extreme pain. That hospital then took him by ambulance back to the Mayo on Monday. When he was at the Mayo this past Monday he had emergency surgery as the tumors caused blockage and a tear in his colon which they cannot repair.
They have been told that Erik has days, maybe a week.
So, as many probably know (and have experienced in your own lives), the medical bills and expenses are piling up, and we are just wanting to help Stacy out during this unbelievably hard time, for just a little less stress and worry. Let her focus on the time she has left with Erik.
