Erika Martha Ramos - Stientjes was the loving mother of 4 sons, and proud grandmother of her granddaughter. She died February 10 following what should have been a routine surgery. Erika was only 46 years old. Her husband Michael and sons Brandon, Erik, Jason and Steven are heartbroken. They are also facing financial hardship with the loss of Erika’s income.
Erika was diagnosed with cancer 10 years ago and had her uterus removed. Recently she had abdominal pain and her doctors arranged to remove her fallopian tubes. She went in for the procedure February 10 and was sent home from the hospital the same day. Erika died shortly afterward from internal bleeding.
Erika was a beautiful person inside and out. She was kind, generous, strong, and loving. Her 4 sons and granddaughter were her pride and joy. Family was everything to her. She worked hard to make a good life for her family. Erika worked as a nanny, like a second mother to Ciara, Timmy and Seany.
Erika’s oldest son Brandon is a U.S. Marine. Her second son Erik is working toward attending college. The youngest two, twins Jason and Steven, are still in high school.
Erika’s husband Michael lost his mother at a very young age. Michael is facing the grief and harsh realities of such a loss again. He also lost his father recently.
We are reaching out for help to bridge the gap of losing Erika’s income, to help provide for the younger boys until they finish high school, and to keep the family stable while they grieve and find their way forward.
