As many of you are aware, my wife Erika Yulizabeth Paz was involved in a traumatic trafic accident in which she lost her leg on impact.

First and foremost, I would like to, from the deepest part of my heart, genuinely thank everyone who has taken the time to help us, whether with a prayer, a message or call of support, or with a donation during our last campaign. If it wasn’t for all of your help and support, there is no way we would be getting through this.

Due to the fact that she has been denied every sort of public medical help, her recovery has been a very expensive, very stressful and draining road. Even though insurance should have covered her medical bills and expenses resulting from the accident, they have denied her the help she needed. Because of all of you, we have been able to acquire all of the additional funds we needed to be able to pay for private care and I can honestly say we’ve been truly blessed with the best medical staff to provide the physical and mental help she’s needed to help her recover and stand strong again.

In spite of all of the struggle, Yuli’s recovery has been amazing and through all of her hard work and determination to recover, she’s now ready and medically eligible for the next part of her recovery which is getting her prosthetic leg.

We are trying to fight within the legal system to get her some kind of compensation from insurance for all that she’s been through and everything she will still have to go through throughout her life because of the irresponsible and dangerous actions of the man that put her and others in the hospital that night, but that has also been a difficult and expensive road.

Regardless of what happens with the legal process, our main focus now is finishing Yuli’s therapy and getting her prosthetic so we can be cleared to travel and I can bring her with me to Canada where I can continue to take care of her and will be able to work to provide for her needs.

Unfortunately, due to all of the fees for the medical care, as well as all of the legal fees, we are extremely low on funds again and really need your help. It was because of the community that we were able to get through this, and I would be eternally grateful if you would consider helping us again to get through her through to the finish.
