Help Erika be able to rest as she fights cancer.

Hello all,

My name is Kerry and I am starting this fundraiser on behalf of my dear friend, Erika Eriksen-Gurholt, who is living in emense pain due to ovarian cancer .

Erika is a single mother living with disabilities, both physical and mental. She has B.P.D and suffers from Fibromyalgia. Because of these disabilities she recieves disability benefits. Which, as most of you know, is not enough to survive on muchless raise a child on. So, determined to make a better situation for her family, Erika has and does work. She has paid into unemployment, she IS entiled to medical leave, however if she takes the much needed medical leave, Assistance will take dollar for dollar what she gets off her benefit cheque. Where as the money she makes at work she gets to keep up to so much a year. If Erika takes medical leave she will not be able make ends meet. Her part time job is what keeps her family afloat. She can't afford to lose that income, so she is forced to continue working. Her paid for EI benefits are usless to her.

Today Erika asked me if I could pick her up "after" work and take her to the hospital because ,over the past few months, her belly has grown hard and to the size of woman 9 months pregnant and her pain had become unbearable. Erika also suffers from Crohn's Disease which is complicating the situation. She is patiently waiting for her date to have the surgery to remove the cancer, as well, she will be having surgery to remonve part of her bowls due to the Crohn's disease . At this time Erika is doing chemotherapy as she waits for her surgery date. This therapy makes her extremely tired and nauseous. Yet she still keeps going.

My hope in this fundraiser is to raise enough money to cover her shifts at work for the next five months or so. Even just some of them so Erika can get the rest she so despeayely needs.

Any help you could give, no matter how small would be greatly appreciated
