Erika and Mike’s Village : Let’s show up!
Erika is a loving daughter, mother of three, and a special education paraprofessional. Within a week of each other, both of her parents (Jim and Kathy Fry) experienced life-threatening medical events. While there are still more questions than answers about the extent of each of her parents’ recoveries, we know that the road ahead is going to be long, and hard, and full of choices. And we know that a loving community can make that road a little less awful. Erika doesn’t have siblings to lean on, so it’s up to us to be her sisters and brothers.
So we are calling out for more fierce prayers to our God who makes beauty out of pain and for acts of generosity to wrap around the Fry and Meeks families.
Mike missed work during that horrible week of chaos, and will likely need to miss more. Erika, as the primary caregiver now, faces unknowns about whether she will be able to work for the remainder of this school year. They don’t have disability insurance, and so this will be a strain on their family.
If you are able to give, please do. There is also a meal train set up and if online giving isn’t your jam, donations can be made at MidWest Bank in Detroit Lakes, MN as well.
We love you, Erika & Mike. We love you, Jim & Kathy. And we will keep sending prayers and love and casseroles and healing vibes your way. You are not alone.
