Erika and Joel Diaz to help pay medical expenses.

My name is Charles Steckenbrider My granddaughter is Erika Ruemmler Diaz, the daughter of Amy Steckenrider Baxter. She was raised in Ewing Illinois and attended Ewing Grade School before moving to Oklahoma with her mother. She finished nursing school before marrying Joel Diaz earlier this year. She loves babies and wanted to have one immediately. On Nov. 6, 2022 she gave birth to twins. She was ecstatic. Unfortunately, the Boy, Mateo, had to have immediate surgery and would have to remain in the hospital for a few weeks. Not long after that he had to have another surgery to drain fluid from his brain. He was fed with a feeding tube and has been on oxygen since his birth. Right now he is being treated for a blood infection and awaiting until that clears up to have his third surgery. Today is Dec. 29th and his life has been intensive and special care at Oklahoma Children's Hospital. It may yet be weeks before he can go home to be with Mom and Dad and sister. As great grandpa, I cannot even imagine the medical bills they are going to encounter. They have insurance but the deductible may range into the $100,000 dollar or more range.
