Erik Saxon has been a firefighter with Las Vegas Fire & Rescue for 23 years. Erik recently suffered a massive heart attack while on duty and is now faced with a very long recovery process. Erik's wife Pam is a flight paramedic but has been unable to work recently as their 13-year-old son who has extra needs underwent brain surgery for seizures and requires physical therapy daily. Pam is also currently home schooling him. Erik and Pam also have a 15-year-old daughter who is in high school and currently participates in after-school sports. To keep things as normal for the kids as possible during this scary time, Pam has been keeping up with all of these things on her own as Erik remains in the hospital. Luckily the Saxons also have an older daughter who was able to help Pam out initially but she has had to return to work now.
While Erik is thankfully heading in a positive direction for recovery, the road ahead is long! Pam spoke today with a nurse at the hospital who says that once Erik is released from the hospital, he will more than likely require 3-4 hours of dialysis 3-4 times a week plus cardiac physical therapy 3-4 times a week. This added to the craziness of the family's already busy schedule means that Pam will more than likely not be able to return to work anytime soon and may even need help getting everyone everywhere they need to be!
Any money raised through this gofundme will go straight to the Saxons to help with covering any medical bills for their son and for Erik and for anything else that will help lessen the financial burden and strain for their family.
Thank you in advance to everyone for supporting this family who through their careers has blessed many other families!
