Hello friends and family, this is Elizabeth, one of Erik's sisters.

We wanted to finally share the really hard and sad news for our brother & our family… He found out in a blink of an eye that he has a very rare and aggressive form of leukemia that’s turned his world upside down and has shaken all of our lives to the core as we have been battling with/for him in the hospital every day, every step of the way since July 1st.

He finished round 1 of the IV chemotherapy on August 3. Oncologist says it is the most difficult round due to wiping out all his bone marrow and immune system. Now he is in "rebuild" mode with regular transfusions. And an upcoming biopsy to show us how successful round 1 was.

Currently the funds raised will go towards his personal bills. We do not know what his out of pocket expenses will be for such a lengthy hospital stay. So we will address that when we know more in the coming months.
