Eric Mahers Stroke Medical Expenses

Donation protected
This has been a challenging two weeks for my family and me.  My healthy mom unexpectedly passed away from a brain aneursym/stroke 11 days ago.

Two days later, my youngest brother Eric, woke up and didn't have control of his eyes.  He was extremely dizzy and sick and not in a good place.

We spent the day in the MN ER doing a lot of tests, all of which seemed to come back normal.  They sent him home and for 4 days he layed down with his eyes closed and things slowly seemed to get better.

He was able to be standing at our mom's celebration of life ceremony and seemed to be on the mend, despite unanswered questions of what caused it.

A couple days later Eric calls me up (Dustin his oldest brother) and says that his eyes are burning really bad and his left side of his body is weak, numb and tingling.

I take him back to the ER in Madison and they run a bunch more tests but can't find anyting.  They send him home and between me, and my dad (who quickly drove from MN) took care of him 24/7 for about a day until things kept getting worse.

He was taken back to the ER and we asked for another MRI to be done.

The doctors/nurses were shocked and dumbfounded to find out that he had suffered a stroke in the brainstem.

Fortunately it is much smaller than the one that killed my mom and we are believing he will make a full recovery.

There are still lots of questions to be answered and tests to be done, but he seems to be doing better for now and is resting peacefully in the hospital.

Fortunately he has insurance, but it is the high deductable kind, and I estimate he will have to pay about $5,000 out of pocket.

He has been through so much with losing his mom and now all of this, that I don't want him to have to now stress over paying the bill, so if you would like to donate that would mean the world to myself and to him.

If you live in Madison, please feel from to come to the Transformation Center and grab any workout DVD that I have produced as a small token of thanks for your support.

Please don't tell Eric I am doing this, I want it to be a surprise when he leaves the hospital.

Thanks and God Bless,
Dustin Maher
