In 2021, Eric was diagnosed with melanoma which had originated on his heel and spread to his right leg. He began a round of immunotherapy at Upstate Cancer Center had surgery on his leg and after, what we thought then was a tough fight, he was in remission.

In March 2025, he developed a "bump" on his right shoulder. We had only thought that he pulled a muscle or possibly popped his shoulder. Not long after that, he also developed a small lesion on his inner right thigh. His dermatologist took a biopsy and confirmed it to be melanoma. They quickly began the immunotherapy treatments again, but this time it didn't work. This round of melanoma is aggressive and has metastasized to his brain. With no options left in Syracuse, his doctor referred us to Roswell in Buffalo last month. We went, and they also confirmed that this melanoma is very aggressive and they were only able to offer us a couple of options. Another brain scan verified the brain lesions were growing. This eliminated one of the options (TIL procedure), as it would not be approved if there was any brain activity. The other option was dismissed as well, as the doctor was confident it wouldn't work being a weaker version of immunotherapy that he has already had.

We are not giving up, and Eric was just approved for a consultation at MSK (Memorial Sloan Kettering) in NYC.

We have an appointment scheduled for October 9th and are seeking donations to help us make this trip, any other trips that may be necessary and medical expenses that arise and are not covered.

As most of you know, Eric and I live full-time in our RV. We love our tiny home, and it's been a blessing during this time as Eric spends most of the day laying down in the bed, unable to sit or stand for very long due to the location of the many lesions he has throughout his body. He wouldn't be able to make this trip in a car.

We aren't giving up; we know there is that one treatment that's going to work. Eric is strong, his mindset is positive, and he is continuing to fight every day. "The human spirit is stronger than anything that can happen to it."
