I’m Christopher Martinez, and I’m reaching out with a heavy heart during the toughest time our family has ever faced. I’m not one to ask for help, those who know me know I’d rather give than receive, but today, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to ask for your support. My stepfather, Eric Hernandez, a vibrant 46 year old who’s been a true father to me, is fighting for his life against a rare and aggressive brain tumor on his pons, right in the brain stem. I’m blessed to have three incredible men in my life: my biological father, whom I love dearly; my grandpa, who I look up to greatly; and Eric, who’s earned the title of “Dad” through his unwavering love, guidance, and presence. This diagnosis has turned our world upside down.

Eric’s the kind of person who gives his all to those around him. As a devoted husband, an amazing father, and the visionary who founded a thriving Design Center that has become a cornerstone of success. He’s all about creating opportunities for people and building connections that last. He lights up every room with his big smile, endless optimism, and energy that never quits. He’s the guy who taught me all the tips and tricks for handyman fixes around the house, shared wisdom from his life experiences to navigate challenges, and sparked my passion for technology, teaching me everything I know about it. More than that, Eric saw something in me and went out of his way to give me an opportunity at a position, a role I’ve been grateful to hold for 13 years. Everything I’m passionate about today ties back to him. Now, it’s our turn to fight for him.

This tumor is rare and brutal, sitting in a part of the brain that controls things like breathing, heart rate, and movement. That makes treatment tricky and requires the best specialists out there. Surgery was deemed too risky, so radiation is our only path forward. The medical bills for hospital stays, doctor visits, medications, and rehab are going to be costly, and we’re doing everything we can to keep up.

That’s why we’ve started this GoFundMe, to help cover these expensive treatments and give Eric the best shot at beating this. Every dollar you give will go straight to his medical care, support services, and making sure he has what he needs to keep fighting.
