Eric’s Journey To Donate His Hair

Donation protected
Hello everyone I wish I could say that I started this journey with growing my hair with the idea of donating it but truthfully it started off with fear and sadness. At the start of the pandemic like everyone I was questioning what the heck was going on and also was scared to do anything. One of those things I didn’t feel comfortable doing was going to get a hair cut. And before I knew it my hair was starting to get long. Almost longer than I have ever had it. Some of you probably remember my 2004 Junior year “sunshine” attempt of a hair style. My last hair cut was in January of 2020. At some point I decided that I wanted to see how far I could go without getting a hair cut or just taking my clippers and cutting it off. I was able to love it then dislike it, then love it again, then really hate it, then it grew on me and it became apart of me. I saw the world crumpling around me and this journey then turned into my hair being something that kept my mind going and it almost became a part of my therapy. The process actually helped me look forward to the day I could cut it off and donate it to someone or some organization that could turn that fear and sadness into something positive. So with almost two years of memories, some bad but very fortunate to say a lot of good, I’d like to make my Christmas gift or Christmas vibe about donating my hair to Locks of Love. I also am making a money donation to them and also an organization that I stumbled on while researching on what I was going to do with my hair. They are called Matter of Trust. They are a California based eco friendly and nature based charity that really has a mission I think is important. They also turn hair clippings into mats that soak up oil spills or help with water erosion. Here are both of the websites if you want to take a look at what they do or what their missions are https://locksoflove.org/    https://matteroftrust.org/
I like to give back around the holidays and I don’t need any gifts or presents I pretty much have everything I need. So I’m asking friends and family instead of giving me a gift or presents, donate to this page and I will donate this money to those organizations on Christmas morning 50/50. Thanks everyone I hope everyone is doing ok and everyone has a great Christmas and cheers to 2022…. Maybe I’ll start growing it back for Christmas 2024!!!
