A Fresh Start After 30+ Years of Struggle

Hi, my name is Eric Ludwig, and for the first time in over 30 years, I’m finding real hope and clarity.

I’ve struggled with alcoholism for most of my life. Over the years, it cost me everything—my job, my health, my relationships, and eventually, my home. I hit rock bottom when I lost my apartment and became homeless. Then, not long after, I had to undergo brain surgery.

But that low point became a turning point.

I finally made the decision to get help. I entered treatment, and as of today, I’m 71 days sober. That may not sound like much to some—but to me, it’s everything. For the first time in decades, I’m clear-headed, I’m healing, and I’m rebuilding.

My treatment ends in 19 days, and while I’m proud of how far I’ve come, I’m still facing the reality of homelessness. I’m working hard every day to get back on my feet, and I’m reaching out for a little help to get started.

I’m asking for $700 to cover basic essentials that will help me transition out of treatment and back into the world, including:

Clothes and shoes

Hygiene products

Food

My phone bill (so I can stay in touch with potential employers and housing resources)

Lyft rides for job searching and apartment viewings

A small cushion toward a new place to live
