Eric's Cremation & Memorial Service

Dearest readers,

It is with a heavy heart that we are announcing the passing of Eric Lee Acosta, born March 17th, 1992 in Providence, RI. For those of you that knew him, you knew he was a fighter. For years, Eric had been battling health issues and complications stemming from an auto-immune disease. About a month ago, Eric was admitted to the hospital as his condition was worsening. He fought with everything he had but God ultimately had other plans for him. He passed on Sunday, August 28th, 2022 at the young age of 30 years old. His last years were spent in New York caring for his disabled father and gaming with friends in his free time.

Anyone will tell you that you should prepare for death as it is inevitable. No one is too good to beat it, but if anyone deserved to, it was Eric. He was a quiet, gentle soul who brightened the lives of so many with his sense of humor and selfless attitude. Eric was the type of person that would feed his friends and loved ones before himself. He displayed stoic grace, generosity, and maturity beyond his years. He was one of a kind and heaven truly gained an angel.

As you can imagine, my family was not at all prepared for the financial burden that comes with laying to rest a loved one, which is why we are reaching out for support.

We are planning a modest but proper ceremony for September 11th, 2022 in Rhode Island and every little bit helps. I am in the process of making formal invitations for the event and will post them once they are available. Our goal is to raise $5,000, ideally before the 11th. All excess donations, if any, will be placed into a savings account for Aiden Lee, Eric's nephew, age 6.
