Please help the Muth family through this difficult time. Eric, a father of 3 little ones, has been hospitalized for the past month and a half and has been recently moved to a skilled nursing facility. As you can imagine, the household bills are piling up. Eric's wife Cathy has been attending to him and has been unable to work. Although her work has been extremely accommodating, the Muth family needs financial help. To make matters worse, on August 19th, Cathy came down with a case of appendicitis and had to have her appendix removed. The outpouring of support and prayers from loved ones far and near has been amazing – please keep storming heaven and please consider contributing to the Muth family GoFundMe site.
Background
A little over a year ago, Eric took a job as a waiter after being laid off from his sales job. Three months into the job, he tripped on floor mats and hurt his back. After a year of increasing back pain and inability to work, he opted for surgery to fix his bulging disc.
At about 10 days post-op, Eric was admitted to the hospital on July 1st in very poor condition. The surgery had resulted in a system-wide staph infection - it went into his blood, joints, and multiple other soft tissue areas. All the treatment to fight the infection also caused a domino effect on poor Eric – failing kidneys, high blood pressure, immense pain, you name it. He's been in and out of ICU a couple times and at one point had been released to go home only to quickly return to the hospital when all his symptoms came back with a vengeance.
On August 18th, he was released to a skilled nursing facility with no timetable for release. Although the infection appears to have subsided, he still has a very long road to recovery after a month and half of hospitalization.
