Erick's Journey to a Kidney transplant
Donation protected
I’m writing to share some significant personal news, and I want to be transparent about my current health situation. Recently, I was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, also known as Berger disease, a Chronic kidney disorder in which a protein called immunoglobulin A (IgA) deposits in the kidneys and causes progressive damage. Unfortunately, my disease has reached its end stage, which means my kidneys are no longer able to function adequately. As a result, I have been permanently placed on dialysis to manage my condition.
Because of the severity of my illness, I am also in need of a kidney transplant. At present, the waiting time for a kidney from a deceased donor is estimated to be 3-5 years. While I am doing everything I can to stay healthy, the reality of this process has significantly impacted both my physical and financial well-being.
In order to manage my health and treatments, I have had to reduce my work hours to just 24 hours a week. This has created a considerable gap in my finances, making it difficult to keep up with necessary expenses such as medical bills, school costs, home expenses, and everyday living supplies.
I am reaching out to you today to ask for your support. Your help would enable me to focus on managing my health and well-being without the overwhelming stress of financial strain. It would make a world of difference as I navigate this challenging chapter of my life, allowing me to keep afloat while awaiting the transplant and dealing with the costs associated with my condition.
Any assistance you can provide would be deeply appreciated, and I am incredibly grateful for your consideration during this time.
Thank you for your time, compassion, and support.
Sincerely
