Erick Marklund

Erick was recently given a diagnosis of stage 4 liver disease and liver cancer. His hope is that he will be eligible to receive a liver transplant. He will now have all his care at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN.  Erick also has Avascular Necrosis (AVN) in both knees and is having a lot of difficulty walking at this time. He needs
both knees replaced and his surgery was canceled due to the hospitals being full with covid patients.  

He is still working full time in outside sales for a Restoration company but he’s not sure how much longer he can work. He is going to have to stop working very soon. 

He is in constant pain although you wouldn’t know it given the brave, cheerful smile he wears every day through all of this. Erick is a stand up guy-hard worker, loyal and generous friend, loving father, son and brother and always has a smile or joke to lighten the day.

Erick doesn’t like asking for help which is why I am. Erick isn’t eligible for social security disability until he stops working completely and then it will be 6 months before he receives his first check.  Erick's health insurance is changing with his job and will be very expensive.

It is my hope and prayer that Erick can receive enough financial assistance from his community so that he can relax a little and enjoy his life without the constant worry about medical bills, living expenses, travel expenses to see his family and for extended upcoming stays for all of his appointments and surgeries at the Mayo in Rochester.

Erick recently devoted his life to Christ and is an active member at River Valley Church and was recently baptized again. He deserves to know and feel that he can be carried by the love and assistance of his community, family, friends, congregation, neighbors and even strangers because he truly embodies the golden rule of “do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. Thank you for your prayers, love, positive energy and thoughts, and generosity! I know Erick will be eternally grateful for it! ❤️
