Erich Smith's Bad Ass Fundraiser

You may know me, you may not. But that's not important. I'll bet you sure know that goofy S.O.B. pictured above. And if not, where you been? You don't know what you've been misising out on.

Erich is a hell of a guy. I've known him for quite a bit now, and I think I could safely call him my friend. We met through softball. Our daughters have been playing together for years. We've bonded through our daughter's mutual interest and along the way found some of our own.

From seeing the picture I chose, I probably don't need to tell you Erich is funny (and not just funny lookin'). I do feel the need to tell you he is smart and witty. He's quirky and kind. And, he's dopey, in the best kind of way.

He's also proud. He's proud of what he gets to put out to the world. He's proud of what he's put into shaping his world. He's a proud husband, a proud father, a proud worker, a proud friend. You can see it in his eyes. And not just when he scores a new lego set that I'm not supposed to tell Amy about. ;)

Erich hasn't been as smiley or as goofy as his usual self lately. He's be quietly battling colon cancer for the last several months. Chemo and radiation therapies took their toll, and surgery is next. Erich and Amy are putting on a good face through it all, but are going to need our help.

Surgery and the recovery process will take Erich out of the workforce for some time. Money will be tight and that's where we come in.

I started this campaign with the hopes of helping a good friend find his way back to the sideline of Molly and Erin's ball games with some pep in his step and a smirk like a jerk. If you've ever shared a beer, a smoke, or a joke with Erich, you know it's a worthy cause.

So that he and the Smith family can focus on recovery, free from the burden of the financial challenges that lie ahead, please consider to helping out. No contribution is too small or too large.

Thank you for helping my friend.
