My name is Eric Robles and I am a student at the University of California Irvine. My goal is to attend medical school and become an oncologist. While being a student at UCI, I have been involved in a pre-health club called IMED, International Medicine Education and Development. Link: http://imedatuci.org
This club has offered great opportunities that have allowed me to grow as an individual and as a leader. I hold the position of outreach coordinator. This year IMED members will be going to Costa Rica for their annual summer Global Actions trip. In the past, IMED members have gone to the Philippines (video attached)
and the Dominican Republic. The goal of the medical missions is to make a difference in underserved communities abroad. The members who attend this trip gain invaluable clinical experience, a different perspective of medicine, and a broader outlook on life. This trip is planned by Foundation for International Medical Relief of Children, an IMED affiliate.
I would like to take part in this year's trip. I know that this experience will be incredibly rewarding because I will have the chance to meet people of different backgrounds, get clinical experience in a different country, and also get to bond with my fellow IMED members.
The cost of the trip is $1,700; my goal is to fundraise the entire sum. The money I raise will go towards airfare, FIMRC trip cost, and food. I am asking for contributions of any amount. By making a contribution towards this trip you would be helping me achieve my career goals. Thank you (:
