Erica's Urgent Need for Medical Assistance

Howdy folks, I’m Erica’s dad, Tim. The grandbabies call me Gampa. I am writing to help get Erica some financial support as her mom and my wonderful wife Nunu can only do so much right now considering the severity of what is going on with Erica at this time. I know I am her dad, but my gosh, am I so proud of the amazing woman and mom she has become. She puts everyone - and I mean everyone before herself. She just doesn’t stop, she keeps going and giving and loving others that come genuinely from her heart.

Unfortunately, Erica has found herself in a very scary medical crisis where she could now use the love and support of community, friends and family to come together to help her out.

As a lot of you know, Erica suffers from a genetic lung disease, Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency along with very serious asthma. Those two combined have given her Genetic COPD. She is registered handicapped from the condition, even though she has never smoked a cigarette once in her life. She has struggled greatly on most days, yet you would never know it with her charisma, happiness and love for life. She absolutely lives for her kids, they keep her going and she loves being Beckham and Jozy's mom.

That being said, in April, Erica's health took a turn for the worse. She came down with multifocal pneumonia and was hospitalized as both of her lungs were filled with infection. For weeks she was put on antibiotics and steroids and poked with tests. She even has to do weekly iron infusions due to being severely anemic.

In early May, Erica passed out due to a lack of oxygen and only Beckham and her niece Kayden were home, so they called Erica's mom and she called 911. She was treated and sent home but clearly just not getting better despite all the treatment she has received.

Then on May 19, the worst happened. Erica was rushed to the hospital by her husband Dan and almost put on a ventilator as she was in acute respiratory distress. The CT Scan showed a worsening of the pneumonia and not only that - a huge hiatal hernia is pushing up towards her lungs which will need surgically removed when her lungs are healed. She'll also need to see an ENT to get sinus surgery to hopefully reduce the amount of infections that set off her lungs and breathing.

Needless to say, Erica isn't getting paid while missing so much work and the medical bills are piling up beyond belief. If you have the means and can help donate anything to Erica and her family, they will be forever grateful. Lord knows they need all the help they can receive.
