We are starting this go fund me page in support of our friend Erica Gowanlock, who has recently received a life altering diagnosis of stage 3 cervical cancer. Our goal is to lessen the financial burden she will be facing in the coming months during treatment.

If you know Erica, you know she is a fiercely devoted single mother to her 10 year old son, Jaxon. He is her entire world, and everything she does is to ensure that he has a happy and love-filled life.

Aside from being an amazing mom, Erica is a wonderful person and those who know her are lucky to have her in their corner. Her personality is larger than life. She is an extremely supportive friend, someone who will show up without being asked, someone you can count on to help you through your worst days.

Erica is now fighting for her life.

Prior to her cancer diagnosis, Erica underwent genetic testing which confirmed she is a carrier of the BRCA-2 gene. She was scheduled to undergo multiple surgeries to mitigate her risk of other cancers, however this will have to be put on hold while she undergoes an intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatment plan. Once her current treatment is complete, she will still face at least 3 major surgeries, including:

• A preventative double mastectomy

• Breast reconstruction

• A radical hysterectomy

Furthermore, she will have to travel to London multiple times for additional radiation treatment and appointments, adding even more financial and emotional strain during an already overwhelming time.

We are hoping to surround Erica with the same love and support she has always given so freely to others. Our goal is to relieve some of the financial pressure so she can focus her energy where it’s needed most — fighting, healing, and being there for her son.

Any donation, no matter the amount, will go toward:

• Treatment and medical-related expenses

• Travel for radiation therapy

• Basic living expenses

• Physician recommended genetic testing in US

• Supporting Erica and Jaxon through the months ahead
