Erica Lynn Fabila Kidney Transplant Recovery Fund
Donation protected
I am making this page for my sister, Erica (29). She is the daughter of Ernest and Diane Fabila and single mother of Adrian (11) and Javian (8).
Back in 2014, at the young age of 25, Erica was diagnosed with End Stage Renal Failure Disease. Since then, she has been in and out of the hospital for weeks at a time, has had countless surgical procedures, she’s been on chemotherapy, several medications, and dialysis. Depressed and weak, she still had hope that she would find a kidney donor. She had two attempts at a donor just to have to get let down when it wasn’t a compatible match.
Yesterday, May 22, 2019, she got the phone call she’s been waiting for, the answer to our prayers…..a kidney transplant match!! My parents and sister packed up their life in a suitcase in 30 minutes and had to basically move to Dallas for the transplant.
The surgery went well and she’s recovering. The doctors said everything is looking awesome, the kidney started turning a normal pink color, started to work immediately and started to produce urine (she hasn’t been able to in 5 years!)
Erica still needs your help as she recovers. Insurance isn’t going to cover 100% of medical bills or anti-rejection medications that she will have to take for the rest of her life. Averaging roughly $500/month with insurance. Her monthly bills are piling up with her not being able to work due to the severity of this, and she still has two young boys to provide for. She won’t be able to work for an unknown amount of time because of the transplant surgery. She will have to stay in Dallas, close to the hospital for at least a month. She will need funds for living expenses and travel when she has appointments. My mother will not be able to work for a while as she will have to be Erica’s caregiver.
Anyone who knows my family, knows that we wouldn’t ask for help unless we desperately needed it. If you could find it in your heart to help, any amount would help, and we are forever gracious!
Please continue to keep her and my nephews and my family in your prayers!
We are so very grateful for the donor and their family. My sister is now living proof of how important it is to donate your organs! Because of this, my sister will get to live a normal and healthy life with my two nephews!!!
Please share and get the word out in this desperate time of need! Thank you so much!
