Erica R. Langlais Memorial Scholarship
Donation protected
Erica Rose Langlais was pursuing her dreams at Northern Michigan University when the Pandemic hit us. As a result, she was isolated and alone for months before she could return home to Rhode Island. Like many in our nation, she struggled with depression and after a car accident, and unknown to friends and family, opioids came into her life, but she smiled through her battle privately. Sadly, she passed away on May 28, 2020 shortly after returning to RI. Her death was accidental and so heartbreaking for all that knew her. It was only after her death that we learned opiods were a factor. But this disease did not define Erica. What Erica is most known for was how she helped those around her stay upbeat, she helped others fight their own demons, while she hid hers, she was generous with her love, time, and friendship. In fact, she probably saved a few lives along the way, as she cared deeply for her friends and family and spent numerous nights staying up with friends to make sure they got through their rough patches. Erica had passion for life and wanted to fulfill her dreams in helping people with natural medicinal remedies. She loved animals as much as she loved people, and her heart broke when she saw an elderly person eat alone. Her heart was big and pure.
Please help her legacy live on through contributing to this Scholarship Fund. The funds raised will be donated in Memory of Erica to one or more students in Scituate High School, who like Erica, cares deeply about the people around her, and contributes her time to fight the Pandemic of depression and addiction in our community.
Erica, while alive gave many the "Hope" they needed to Live Life to the fullest and out loud and to pursue their dreams. It is rare to find a picture of Erica without a smile on her face. A smile is what she gave the world around her. Please help me continue that Legacy in her name in giving another child the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
Thank you for your support in advance. The funds raised throughout this year will be awarded in 2022.
Thanks you,
Erica's Mom and her family
