Eric Visel Medical Bills

On August 25th Eric was sent to the emergency room from work. He had been having some strange symptoms all weekend but was trying to tough it out. He went to his local hospital and was told they suspected he had a stroke. They transferred him to St Joes in Ypsilanti where they confirmed that yes he did in fact have an ischemic stroke. Eric is 24 years old. The doctors still don’t know why this happened and it’s incredibly rare for someone his age to experience this. The stroke left him experiencing paralysis on the left side of his body and he spent the next 30 days in the hospital. He had physical therapy where he had to learn to walk again and is still gaining control of his extremities. He is home now and has Physical therapy in his home multiple times a week.
For anyone that knows Eric, they will tell he is one of the kindest and most gentle souls you will meet. He is the first person to volunteer to help anyone in need. He has worked so hard in his young life to set himself up with a career and had plans to buy a home soon. Him and his girlfriend Natalie were just beginning their life together, she had just moved here from California to be with him. He is an incredibly strong and determined man. He will no doubt make it through this, but no 24 year old should be saddled with the crippling debt that comes along with a massive health issue like this. At 24 years old he shouldn’t be worrying about medical bills he’ll be paying for the rest of his life. We know how many lives he touched and we’re hoping to help raise some money to make this less stressful in any way we can.
