Eric Rathbun passed away suddenly on August 12th, 2020, leaving behind a household full of love - his wife, Krista, his mother, Rose, his four children and their two dogs.
Eric's soul was the foundation for his family and friends. He was a selfless host for parties and get-togethers. The one making sure everyone was upbeat and enjoying life in the moment, whether putting a drink in every empty hand or tugging an elbow to come check out his new and endless supply of card games, board games, book games, gadgets, comedy specials, old movies, and a hundred other eclectic interests he managed to suck people into with contagious enthusiasm.
Eric also had a special energy driven by sense of purpose and duty to his family, his work, his town, and his country. Eric touched many peoples lives during his 19 years at Cigna IT, time in which many deep friendships were built. He was a veteran of the CT Army national Guard, a volunteer firefighter for Southington Engine Company #2, and a martial arts enthusiast, taking on all challenges with optimism and a quiet confidence.
Most of all, Eric was a loving husband, father, son, uncle, and brother-in-law. Please help us come together as family and friends to support his children, wife, and mother as they grieve and work through the challenges ahead in their new life.
