Eric Mccarthy's Fire Fund

A little while ago my disabled brother, Eric Mccarthy got a new neighbor. Shortly after this guy moved in he started harassing and threatening him. He'd bang on the walls all night long so Eric couldn't sleep, and bang on his door all the time. Eventually Eric answered the door and the guy, who just moved in mind you, tells him "I think its time for you to leave". Now that same guy set fire to my brothers house on December 5th 2020.  Actually both their houses since they lived in the same building. 

Eric got himself and his cat out, but he lost everything. He has received a heartwarming response from friends and family in regards to clothes donations, now he just needs to replace his personal belongings and some furniture. I'm so grateful that Eric and his pet cat, named kitty, weren't injured, but it's heartbreaking to think he may have been targeted just because he acts a little different. Eric is a sweet and caring person. He's always strived to be as independent as possible, he took care of his own place, he works as a janitor, and continues to improve by learning to read at a higher level and works on his technology literacy.


***Update*** We were told by responding officers and firefighters on the scene that they were approaching the fire as a cause of arson, they have since officially reported it as "under investigation"
