Eleven years ago I lost my 19 year old son Eric to suicide. Eric was an amazing young man he was a brilliant engineering student at Columbia University. Eric was the victim of suicidal depression, a breakup with his girlfriend, and a brain 6 years short of full development in the area of impulse control. He was a wonderful son, brother and friend. Eric loved books and we began working with Books for Africa to deliver libraries to students and communities in Rwanda. Rwanda suffered a horrific genocide 26 years ago but through hard work, resilience and forgiveness Rwanda is rebuilding their beautiful country. Books are still difficult to get and many classrooms have no books for their students or just a handful. The Eric Harms Libraries through Books for Africa have been able to send over 160,000 books to 34 libraries. There are 12 million people in Rwanda and they need books. Please help us send more!
