Eric J. Cummings affected thousands of students' lives as an amazing coach, mentor, teacher and friend. He was a partner in parenting many teens as they ran on his cross country and track teams at Riverside High School (and beyond.) He had high expectations, but always knew when to show grace to his runners.
Eric passed away on September 22, 2020, leaving his beloved wife, Karen, and three sons, Alex, Lucas and Jon. This campaign is to raise money for his funeral arrangements, but any excess will go to the family to help them with any expenses now that Eric will not be with them.
We hope that Eric knew how vital he was to the heart of Riverside High, as well as the larger South Carolina running community. Let's show his family now how much we appreciated him.
Final expenses will be handled by the following team of former runner moms and local school PTSA leaders: Leigh Ambrose, Hope Murtaugh and Stephanie Wright. We will keep the campaign open as necessary to meet the family's needs.
