I've decided to set up this Go Fund Me for my long time friend Eric Hoyos, who is in desperate need of ongoing care. Eric was born a superstar swimmer in 1968, with many accolades and records set for his alma mater Cooper City High School. Back in 2006 on Easter Sunday, Eric was at Lake Ida with his firefighter friends, barbequing for them. After he was done making all the food, he decided to dive into the water to cool off. That last dive almost took his life. He broke his C3, shattered his C4, and fractured his C5 vertebrae. That left him a quadriplegic. I don't have to tell you how hard life has been since that day.

This year Eric's Mom, who he has lived with for the last 11 years, passed away. Thus far they had been able to share in care. Eric now goes 10 hours a day without care. In addition to needing additional care, Eric also needs to maintain his home and his vehicle which has been modified to accommodate his needs. He is also wanting to purchase a standing table (tilt table) for his physical therapy, a shower chair, and exercise equipment to help with blood circulation in his arms and legs.
