On July 11, Eric Gene Harrell passed away after sudden complications from diabetic ketoacidosis and sepsis. Eric was a devoted husband, father and grandfather as well as an exceptional friend, an incredibly hard worker, a joyful free spirit and a talented musician. He leaves behind his loving wife, Eva, daughter, Erika, son, Ed, four grandchildren, Eddie, Nate, Ashlynn and Hailey, son-in-law, Kevin and his five beloved siblings, Dave, Sandy, Rosi, Kevin and Daryl. His passing is sudden, unexpected and devastating for his family. This fund will go directly to his widow and children to cover the funeral costs and relieve a bit of the immense strain they are under as they grieve.

As his daughter, Erika, said, “To know my dad was to love him. He was hilarious. He had a huge heart.  He had a childlike sense of wonder that constantly charmed us all.  He was the kind of guy people would call ‘a character’ or ‘one of a kind.’ He could and did talk to anyone. He could and did make everyone smile…My dad was the hardest worker I knew. While I was growing up, he worked three jobs…My dad also loved animals…He loved music, too. He loved to play the guitar, and he loved to buy and sell records… I cannot begin to explain this feeling. The compounded grief of another loss so soon.  The loss of my dad.  My hero. My namesake. I lived to make him proud. And now he’s gone before his time.  My heart is broken for him, for my mom, for my brother. For me and for my entire family…And I am so grateful for my dad.  He was such a treasure. We will miss him fiercely. I love you forever, dad.”
