My dear friend Eric Grenaudier passed away unexpectedly, at the age of 57 years old, on May 29th, 2022. Eric appears to have passed away in his sleep, due to complications with seizures.

 

I have been friends with Eric since the mid 1990's, when we first met, and I am starting this fund on behalf of, and with the blessing of Eric's family who I am in constant contact with and helping where I can from the LA side.

 

I am starting this memorial fund for Eric's family to use as they see fit in relation to covering emergency costs of travel and funeral arrangements. As Eric's family live so far away, the costs for last minute travel and arrangements are high, and logistics quite tricky.

 

Eric is survived by his teenage daughter, Luciana, and her mother, Angela who both live in Australia. Eric's eldest sister, France, who lives in New Zealand, his parents François and Béatrice, and his sisters, Florence and Nathalie, and  who live in France.

 

Eric holds a very special place in the hearts of all those that, over the years, were lucky enough to call him a friend, a brother, a son, a father, a partner, a colleague.

 

Eric is one of the most worldly, intellectual, curious people I have had the pleasure to call a friend. His understanding of world politics and history, which always yielded meaningful conversation and debate. One always came away more informed from these interactions.

 

Eric and I worked together at Stargate Films since the 1990's in Visual Effects, where Eric had a long and highly respected career as a Visual Effects Supervisor. Among his many professional accolades, Eric was a six time VES Award nominee and two time winner, and five time Emmy nominee and two time Emmy winner.

 

I hope in a small way this will help alleviate some burden from Eric's family during this very challenging time.
