Eric Brunner’s ALS Battle
Donativo protegido
Eric was diagnosed with ALS in November of 2020 at the age of 33 years old. At the time of diagnosis I had just turned 30, our son Logan was only two years old. We are now four years into this battle and are doing everything in our power to not drown financially living with an ALS diagnosis.
It is no secret that battling a disease such as this comes with a great financial burden. We struggle greatly with this because currently I am Eric’s only caregiver. I am unable to get a job and provide for my family financially due to this. And if I were able to find the time to work, Logan and I would lose the benefits we currently have that help us medically and help me put food on the table. This creates a great deal of stress for us, in addition to the stress we feel daily dealing with a terminal and progressive illness.
If there is one thing we have learned while dealing with ALS it would be to ask for help when help is needed. We don’t know what the future has in store for us but we do know that we are in need of help. Housing in Philadelphia that is handicap accessible is EXPENSIVE and unfortunately for us it is a necessity.
We appreciate any and all support more than you will ever know!
