Dear friends,
Our guy, Eric Breitenfeld, was diagnosed with Rhabdomysarcoma in July 2021 when doctors removed a baseball-sized lump from his esophagus. Rhabdomysarcoma (RMS) is one of the rarest forms of cancer known to oncologists, so rare, that there have been less than 500 cases of adult RMS documented in the last 30 years . Adult RMS is extremely aggressive and a highly malignant form of cancer that develops in soft tissue areas.
Eric's diagnosis thus far has been to have the tumor removed, followed by a 42 week chemotherapy schedule and 4 months of radiation. Depending on chemotherapy and radiation, a second surgery may be necessary.

Eric is the one of the most kind and humble people. He loves spending time with his son, Caleb, cheering on USC, and being silly with friends. Eric has always prioritized a healthy, modest life. He's a San Diego local, loves the Padres, going surfing, or spending time with our pup, Miso.
Now, Eric has the fight of his life ahead of him. Starting September 2021, he'll begin a 42 week-long chemotherapy treatment using 3 different types of chemotherapy, followed by 4 months of radiation. The bills of tumor removal and initial treatments have already begun to build, and he's unable to work to maintain health coverage. We're hoping to help offset some of these past, present & future costs as they continually pile up.
- $10 can help pay for parking at the hospital each day he's there for treatment or appointments
- $50 can help pay for pharmacy costs such as his anti-nausea pills
- $100 can help offset medical scan costs such as MRI, PET and bone-marrow
- Larger gifts will help us with any treatment costs including ER visits, overnight stays and surgery
Eric's current and future chemotherapy treatments may not be covered by insurance. Every dollar you give will help us prepare for this potentially large, life-saving expense.
Eric knows that most everyone has been impacted by COVID, cancer, or some other financial hardship, so helping financially may not always be feasible. Another way you can help is by sharing this campaign with friends, family, strangers, whomever.
He also has an Amazon Wishlist that is updated with items to help out around the house while he undergoes treatment.

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your gift and your help.
Any funds raised here that don't get used will be donated to a charitable organization that works with RMS.
