Eric Barbosa Needs Our Help

We are writing today to share the story of a very dedicated team member, Eric Barbosa, and humbly request your support during a deeply challenging time for his family.

Eric is an essential part of the Lake of Isles Team, serving our Agronomy Department with unwavering dedication. Each season, Eric assists to help ensure the course remains in exceptional condition.

Recently, Eric’s family was met with an unexpected and heartbreaking emergency. While enroute to Disney World, his mother suffered a massive stroke. What was meant to be a joyful family vacation turned into a life altering crisis. She is now hospitalized in Georgia, having already undergone two emergency brain surgeries.

Eric and his family have been making regular trips to be by her side - an emotionally and financially draining effort. The strain on the family is mounting. The hospital has now informed Eric that his mother only has a few days left in hospital before she must be transitioned to an assisted living facility. Understandably, the family’s greatest wish is to bring her home to Connecticut, where they can personally care for her and support her long-term recovery.

Medical transport for such a long journey - requiring specialized medical equipment and care is estimated to cost between $8,000-10,000.

Eric is not only an exemplary professional but also a kind, humble and selfless individual who has consistently given his all to his team and to The Lake. Now, we have the chance to give something back.
